Welcome to our school! I am Beth Chandler, and I have the honor of serving as Principal of Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School. I began my career in education in 1992 as a special education teacher at Mt. Zion Elementary and Mt. Zion High School. I continued teaching special education for ten years at Mt. Zion Elementary where I learned that all students can and will achieve their goals in their own time and own way. In order to extend my work beyond the classroom, I then served as special education facilitator with Carroll County Schools for 1 ½ years. As facilitator, I worked with new special education teachers and with teachers who were struggling to meet the needs of special education students. Over the course of the next 9 ½ years, I served as assistant principal of Central Elementary, Temple Elementary, and helped open Providence Elementary School. In December 2012, I had the pleasure and honor of becoming the principal of Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School.
My education credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Education in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership, all from the University of West Georgia.
It has been my lifelong career goal to become a principal of a community elementary school where I am able to support students, teachers, and families as we work to improve our local community. Villa Rica Schools have a tradition of Excellence and Pride, and we will continue to work to reach, teach, and empower all of our stakeholders. The past four years have been the best years of my educational career, and I have fallen in love with the Villa Rica community! I have grown to LOVE PURPLE and LIVE GOLD!
